iPod not working maybe HD

My 20g 4G iPod isnt turning on. It either shows the battery warning or the file warning. When i try to turn it on, i can hear the hd start to spin and speed up, and then it makes kind of a clicking sounds and stops. Any ideas what the problem is? I also left it in my car over the summer for about a month and it gets up to like 95f here. I think its just a bad harddrive, but any ideas? if i have my app (apple protectio) and i send it into apple and they opt to fix/ replace it would they send me a new 5g? thanks

    You tried resetting it, right?

    Yeah, definitly tried that. I'm pretty savy with iPods so i did all the basics, but i figured i'd ask on here because i know theres someone here that can help me out
