More Powerbook RAM problems

I recently bought 2 1 gig sticks of RAM (from Crucial) for my 15" 1.25 ghz Al Powerbook from newegg.com. When the RAM came, I installed it and immediately started getting kernal panics. After doing a little reseach I found out that my Powerbook is one of the "bus slewing" models that freak out with ordinary RAM. According to Ramjet.com this is only an issue when dealing with 1 gig chips and any 256 or 512 should work. Sent the RAM back and bought 2 512 chips, this time from Kingston.

Long story short...same thing happened. As soon as I installed it, I got nothing but kernal panics and general wackiness from my PB. So now I'm back to my lowly stock 2 256 chips. Both sets of chips have been DDR PC-2700 at 333mhz which from all I can tell should be the right kind.

The whole thing has left me frustrated and tired of shipping RAM back and forth all over the country only to have it not work. Any other PB owners with my model (15" 1.25 ghz, superdrive)have any advice on RAM that might actually work?

Thanks guys!

I bought a gig stick (total of 1.5) from Other World computing and have had no such issues. I know this doesn't help, but at least one person with the same laptop hasn't had your problems.

Thanks for the info 4vector. I'll check out the RAM at Other World. Since Ramjet seems to have quite a bit of info about the whole bus-slewing RAM issue, I'm assuming that the memory from them should work? Anyone buy from them in the past?

    Thanks
