External HD: LAN Disk?

There is a heated debate over USB or FW but the new thing here in Japan are Lan Disks... there are tons of them n the stores, but I haven't the slightest as to whether it would be good to get one or not.



My wife is a Windows user (primarily due to most business software in Japan is on Windoze), but we want to share a network disk- or at least that is our plan.



Can anyone recommend a set-up? We will be moving small movies and audio-recordings around, so 15GB at a time, pehaps, but we are not looking to break speed records.

    I looked into one a few years ago but was a bit dissapointed. Bith that was a long time ago in Techland. I had high expectations to start with. I stuck with USB2 and firewire. But I'm biased. Someone else should chime in.
