Candybar: what types of icon files are compatible?
Does anyone know what types of graphic/icon files Candybar can work with? I've downloaded several .png and .icns icon files (from places other than the Candybar/IconFactory site) and when I drag them into Candybar, only the generic "png" or "icns" icon shows up in the well. When the dock or finder is relaunced, no icon change takes place.
Just curious if these two types of files are incompatible with Candybar and, if so, can the be converted to something that is... The icon sets available from CandyBar are relatively limited.
Thanks!

Here are some icons for you, that are compatible with candybar.
FYI, I finally heard back from the CandyBar folks. Their reply:
When you drag an file into a well in CandyBar, it's the file's icon that CandyBar grabs, not the contents of the file. It's not exactly that .icns and .png file are incompatible with CandyBar, but that our handling of these files is less than elegant. We're working on refining this for a future version.
In the meantime, you might like to try Pixadex (a companion app to CandyBar). You can drag any kind of file into Pixadex and it will show you the icons contained within, and add them to an icon library a la iPhoto. You can then drag the icons out of Pixadex and into CandyBar for the desired result. The unregistered version is sufficient for these purposes, though if you'd like to to any of the more advanced Pixadex features, you might look into purchasing it, too.
