nvidia geforce 7800 gt fan runs high even when idle

I have a new Quad G5 with a nvidia geforce 7800 gt video card. Its fans are really loud. I took it to an Apple Store and they said it was normal. But, the fans are pretty noisy and it can be very distracting when doing pro video and graphics work. The fan is pretty high even when my mac is idle. The guy at the genius bar said that video cards always run hot even when idle. So is there anything, hardware (add-on liquid-cooling system?) or software (new nvidia drivers?) that will make this card quieter?
