Shuffle file formats, did they change?

So I am thinking about buying a shuffle for a lightweight podcast player and went to apple.com to see what kinds of file formats it supports. I remember that either audible or loseless wasn´t supported. But now it seems like it supports all the formats of its big brothers

Just tried dragging an Apple Lossless encoded song onto my iPod shuffle and it didn't let me. Must be a mistake on the site.
