Ipod Video and encoding DVDs question

I am considering buying a new iPod but would like to know how many movies I would be able to get in it.
I prefer longer encoding time over larger file sizes. So if I have virtual all the time I need (say 16 hours on a mini) for the encoding process, how large a file would a 2 hours DVD need to be? Playback on iPod only.
For reference a two pass encoding h.264 kept to original size with handbrake at 700 mb is excellent quality for normal use IMO.
