Sony HDV

Hello to all !



I am in the process of purchasing a new DV camera. I am really looking out for the new Sony HDV camera, Sony HDR-HC1E.



I really need to know if there is any users out there who is using it and the hardware demands for it.



Must I upgrade my 1.5 GHz Powerbook ?

    Wrong forum.



    With the latest FCP, importing and editing works great. Just be prepared for a long render time at the end (how about a day!). With iMovie, expect import and export to take 8 hours each. Editing will be fine.



    The latest PowerMacs do much better.

    My Powerbook G4 1.25 can't do realtime importing of HDV, I'd be surprised if a 1.5 could. I'm hoping for 2GHz Powerbooks at MWSF to make HDV usable.

    Make sure you load the Powerbook with memory 2GB is a must for video.
