Does anyone know if I get the key for QT5 Pro if it will work along with QT6 Pro? I had a key for 3 and it worked for 4 as well. Should I just wait in case? I have a bunch of X-Files I recorded on my PIII(667) PC in AVI files that I want to cut down (averaging 1.5-2.5GB and about 45mins when cut.) Will QT Pro do the job?

I haven't heard anything as to whether the 5 key will work for 6 (hopefully so!). You can use QT Pro to compress your video, but I think you would be better off using something like Cleaner 5, which is available for 9 and X.

If the leaked builds of QT6 are signs of things to come, any QT5 license will expire when upgraded to QT6. So far, QT6 needs a new license that is different from a QT5 ones. I'm fairly sure I already answered this question in my thread about QT6...

Don't we go through this each time? And each time all you have to do is reenter your key from 4 or 5 and it works?

It accepts the key, but you don't get the pro features anyways.
