New Intel iMacs, Rosetta, Other Software??
I know its early yet to be getting speed results for the new Intel iMacs but I'm looking at purchasing the 2.0 Core Duo in the next few weeks, and all I've heard about is Photoshop and iTunes so far.
Anyone get a system yet, and know how other applications run under Rosetta?
I use less common graphics programs such as Bryce 5.5, Vue 5, Artmatic Pro & Voyager, and I would really like to know how well these will run under Rosetta.
I currently have a Rev. A 1.6 Ghz single G5 with 1.5 GB 333 Mhz Ram and a 5200 Ultra video card with 64 MB DDR, running Tiger.....Do you guys think I'll at least get better performance than I'm getting now?
I'm looking for better rendering performance, and with my current 20 inch Cinema, and my new 20 inch Intel iMac I would have a dual 20 inch desktop.
I'm looking at the 2 Ghz Core Duo with 1 GB Ram and the 256 MB Radeon X1600.
As an added thought, doesn't it seem weird that for the most part the new Intel iMac has better specs than the current low end PowerMac yet the PM is $400 more? (Canadian Dollars)
