Dear,

I have 3 extra 15 inch powerbook g4 rechargeable battery's here, (A1045 10.8V)

Do you think i have any chance that they might work on the new macbooks pro ? On the pictures i see from the back of the macbook, they really look the same ?

Thanks for your input.

They might fit, but I wouldn't try using them. The PowerBook G4 uses a 50 watt-hour lithium ion battery, while the MacBook Pro uses a 60-watt-hour lithium polymer battery. I don't know much about electronics, but if you plug in the PowerBook battery it sounds like something could go wrong... if I were you I wouldn't take the chance.

Nope, the form factor is totally changed. Check out the PR image where you can see the underside of the new MBP.

Even if it fits, the electrical requirements are changed. I don't know for sure, but I would not take the risk to damage the machine with this.

I assure you it's not. The underside is more like the underside of the 17" PB instead of the old 15" or 12". The PB battery has a round notch in one corner and rounded edges. The new one will be squared and attach like the 17" PB. They changed the style probably to make it impossible to use the old battery.

If you're looking to get rid of one of your old batteries, I'd be more than happy to take one off your hands

Yeah, the MacBook Pro has more in common with the 17-inch PowerBook, than the 15-inch PowerBook.

Damn, I just checked UPS online and it said it would cost about $150 to ship a small package from brussels to the US. Is that correct? If so, then yes that's too expensive.

Never mind, I had just to ask since too many batteries are floating around you. Which Powerbook model exactly you do have?

    Mostly for non-Apple Mac-related stuff.
