Can anyone reccomend a DVI KVM switch?

I used search and could not return any thread that had "kvm" and "switch" in it. Weird. So I am stuck asking.

I need a DVI kvm switch. I am picking up a 23" display this weekend for work.

Also, has anyone ever seen a adapter that will go from VGA to DVI? Can I use the one with my mini on my pc's video card even though it would seem that may be backward (if that makes sense)?

TIA

I am slowly infecting my work with Mac's...

Thanks for the link. I have that website and was hoping to get some testimonies from users. It is hard to believe what you read on those commercial sites sometimes.

Search the MacInTouch archives; there are tons of reports about which KVMs work and which don't. (But you have to read all the reports, because some products work great for some people and don't work at all for other people.)

I think we did have a thread about this sometime last year. A word of warning that I gave in that thread: inexpensive analog KVMs *will* degrade the video output. It's probably not noticeable on a crappy monitor, but on my 17" Samsung LCD, and for sure on a 23" ACD, you'll notice the fuzziness and artifacts. I couldn't stand looking at my LCD through the KVM; I finally resigned myself to re-plugging the monitor cable and using the KVM only for KM. All-digital KVMs should be much nicer, but last I looked were much more expensive.

Edit: I guess you're looking for a DVI-KVM, huh? Well, good idea. I thought you meant you wanted the adaptor for the monitor, not for your other computer.

I picked up a DVI KVM from the website today for around $280 with cables. I am going to just pick up a PCI video card with DVI out for my gateway since I don't game on it just draw in AutoCad. That will fix the DVI problem.

My last problem is to decide if I really want a 23" or just a 20". Poor me. The good news is I will finally have a bright screen on my mini and not a very dim pice of junk.

I got my KVM switch, KVM-201DVU-2AFC by Add logix.

Works great with my 20" Cinemea display but with my 23" it goes bananas. The screen has vertical lines, flickers, and has a nice distortion line that goes up the screen like a bad Sci-Fi movie.

With the PC off it works great, but when I power that PC on everything goes south.

Any one know any reason why this is happening?
