It's 99 bucks

Now that means I can go get the 30" Cinema Display without being forced to buy the desktop for the 3yr warranty. Great.

Seems cheaper than Dell's extended warranty plan. Last time I was at Dell's site and saw their 30" LCD also only carries default 1 yr warranty

I'm tempted to take it for my 20" even. I have a Mac mini which I intend to replace every 12-18 months (bought in September, will replace when 10.5 comes out) so I didn't want to pay £100 on a warranty for that, but I can protect the display with student discount for £58, tempting. Can anyone point to figures for failure rates / lifespan for Cinema displays?

It's really a matter of luck. Not only with Apple but with ALL other brands.

Someone maybe lucky that picks one that lasts for years without a single issue. But some do have at least 2 break downs in a year.

Think of this as insurance. The cost is not so bad. It's cheaper than many 3rd party warranty, I have to say.
