You're being too harsh. "The CE-IV's sleek design stylishly showcases Alienware's alien head logo with glowing eyes" and it has "revolutionary SRS WOW HD technology" and "improved TruBass technology"! Wowzer!
I think the Alienware designers should be congratulated for squarely hitting their target market: 9 year-old boys who don't get out much.

If someone tries to steal it you can beat them with it. Plus, if the cops show up, you can point out that the culprit is the one with the "alien eyes" impression in his forehead.

But Alienware didn't do its own iPod. iPod is a brand, not a entire category of portable audio devices, unless you mean the category also meaning "those made by Apple".
It definitely is on the big side, that is a bit larger than the iPod mini for a fourth of the capacity or less.
Believe it or not, there are some things that aren't made by Apple that are good products! Pretty tough to imagine, huh?
But, with regard to the capacity, the size is pretty ridiculous. The only aesthetic credit I can give it is that it does stick to Alienware's overall look. I think their look is ugly.
