They share the same motherboard/chipset so it probably will. We can only hope for a firmware fix.

apparently it has something to do with the os build #

    http://discussions.apple.com/thread....art=0&tstart=0

how would you go about finding the build number?

and also they said some systems with the 256 show up as 256 in system profiler but show up as 128 in apple hardware test

how do you run the hardware test?

To find the build number, click About This Mac in the Apple menu, then click on the Version 10.4.x text. The version will pop up there (right now it's 8G32 for 10.4.4 PPC).

To run hardware diagnostics, insert the DVD that came with your computer into the drive and reboot. Hold down the "D" key while booting.

From following the threads above for the last few days (since I potentially will see this problem when mine arrives)....

It's a software glitch, and it is solvable by installing the older build. The other option, apparently, is to change the color from millions to thousands.

I do have to wonder why they are shipping two different builds of the OS on the same machines.
