Hey I'm interested in buying a lightscribe burner. I noticed that lacie is the only one that is compatible with macs...If I purchase one other than a lacie is there some type of program that will allow it to work with my iMac or Powerbook?

I don't know if it has changed in the past 3 months but when I was looking into it, LightScribe Media is Ridiculously expensive. Just get a regular burner and buy a printer that can print to white coated disc.

They definitely are very expensive. I believe that I saw a LG model for 100.00 at Best Buy. I love the lightscribe look. I've been searching ebay..hoping that I can come across a used on...or a brand new one for a good price.

You will need to proper hardware drivers to get the DVD drive to work and if the manufacturer doesn't support the Mac then those drivers will not be included. Also, any updated drivers will in an executable (EXE) which will not run on the Mac.
