Hi there,

I have a Powerbook G4 1.5gHz 12" with 1.25 GB memory.

My mother bought an Intel Duo Core Imac (her first computer ever!)

with 512MB of memory.

I have 256MB memory which originally was inside my powerbook (replaced with 1gb).

1. With 2 slots for the Intel Core Duo, is it possible to place 512MB in one, and 256 in the other?

2. Is the memory of my G4 compatible with the Intel?

Thanks!

Yes, but there will be a minimal performance loss as Dual Channel will no longer be in effect.

No. Even if it were, it would run significantly slower than memory specific to the Intel.
