sound card question

Does the quality of the sound card affect the sound if the sound is being sent wirelessly via and Airport Express to the stereo?



I have been listening to music streamed through my airport express to my stereo from my ibook.



....and recently through the express from an new Intel iMac--and I think it sounds better--



My question:



is this just subjective or does the better sound card on the new computer make a difference?

    It should make no difference at all. Are you using the same equalizer settings in both machines? That could explain the difference.
