iTunes File Directory
I use an external hard disk to store all my iTunes songs. Each time I add a song to my iTunes library, the physical file is supposed to be placed in my external hard disk.
However, I have noted recently that my songs are occasionally going into the iTunes Music Library on my powerbook.
Why is this so? How can I stop it from happening?

In advanced preferences, make sure the external drive is selected. Then you want, in the advanced menu, to consolidate library
