Energy Saver Panel Won't Open

Hey guys,

Last night, I updated my Powerbook, which was running OS 10.2.8 to OS 10.4.5

And now, my Energy Saver panel just won't open. It says "loading" but it just doesn't open. Quite mysterious, huh? Does anyone have ANY ideas on how to remedy this problem?

Thanks in advance!

First, try zapping the PRAM. This is where the values are stored.

(boot holding down command-option-P-R until you hear the startup chime twice, then let go of the keys)

If that does not work, find the file

    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.PowerManagement.plist

and move it to the desktop. Relaunch System Prefs and see what that does.
