Anybody ever try to flash a pioneer superdrive?

I have a g4 sawtooth and installed a pioneer 106D superdrive about 2 years ago. Since then, I have read several times that there have been firmware updates for it but just about all of it had to be done on a pc. I have recently found on xlr8yourmac a link to a site that has a OS X gui flasher ultility. Has anybody tried this out and if so, how did it go?

Thanks to all who answer.
