Hi

Mac Mini 1.25G, 256 Megs, 40 Gigs, 10.3.9.

I inserted a CD (which had some backups of my data). The CD did not mount, did not show up on the desktop, did not show up in Finder, which means I have no way of ejecting it! Please help me eject the CD.

Cheers

Oops, dumb me! Please ignore previous post. I forgot the existence of the Eject key on the keyboard. I hit it and it worked. Sorry to be so dumb.

Incidentally, any idea why it did not show up in Finder or on the Desktop or why it did not mount the CD?

    Cheers

In the menu, Check Finder->Preferences and make sure the CD checkbox is checked.

I've had this happen on a CD-R that was scratched before. Sometimes if the OS can't read it, it doesn't spit it back out or forgets there is a CD in there at all. Its only happened 3-4 times for me.
