Best mobile phone game evar!
Just discovered Dweller. Plays great on a 128x128 screen (SEJ300i), but even better on phones with a larger screen.
Basically it's a free Roguelike RPG for mobiles. While playability is not as fun as some of the other Roguelikes, as I'm a Rogue purist, it's a hell of a great time waster and escapist's tool.
I'm trying to find an emulator so I can get some better screenshopts than they have on the Dweller site.
The game has pros and cons:
Pros:
1. An RPG for mobiles!
2. Free!
3. Turn-based, so you can play at your own leisure.
4. Low-overhead.
5. Roguelike features: Permadeath, Dungeon levels, Increasing difficulty, improving player capabilities, magic items, yadda, yadda, yadda.
6. Graphics version available, or play the retro ascii version.
7. Save game!
8. No accidental killing of the game. Quite secure.
9. Great way to spend a commute or waste time waiting in line at the bank.
10. Play as a warrior, wizard or ranger.
Cons:
1. Guaranteed to reduce your productivity.
2. Anti-social.
3. Gameplay is a little too simple. I'd restrict the ability to go up levels like in Rogue.
4. Magic items are too common.
5. "Surprisingly powerful hits" can kill you suddenly no matter how advanced your character.
