My question is that the older minis - should they be dropping in price or no?

I would doubt it only because they are already less expensive than the new ones, and occupy the magical 499.99 mark.

    Well that's annoying.

I'd be mighty tempted with a $399 pricepoint which surely still gives them profit by now. Or at least breaking even, but that's better than having to dump them because who wants them now, besides po' people like me? And perhaps even chalk down to a $379 for edu. Sigh. Probably won't happen. But I can dream right?

Apple has had to do very little discounting in order to move old ppc inventory. BTW I didn't see any ppc minis at Apple's website when I visited earlier today.
