If you still think the Mac mini is overpriced, check this out:

It is due to come out in a few weeks I believe.

That was on Engadget last week, so it isn't really a reply to the Intel Mac mini. It would be a heck of a turnaround time if they could design a computer within a day of the Mac mini being released!!

I believe the point is that it's a comparable unit... for up to $1000.

The only detail not mentioned is what graphics chip/card it has.

Definitely one to watch for comparison, however.

according to aopens mini pc website it uses intels 915gm chipset which has intels gma 900. so the mac mini seems like the better choice by far.

Funny, I thought the Mac mini was over a year old already.

The Shuttle XPC X100 is real competition to the Mac mini. It is bigger but so far the specs are:

    1.83GHz Core Duo processor

    512MB of RAM

ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics (upgradeable)

    250GB SATA II HDD

    Digital audio

    802.11a/b/g WiFi

    Memory card reader

    DVI

    TV out

"Shuttle hasn't quite pinned everything down, so we don't know the price yet, and those specs could change"

    Let me revise your statement:

The Shuttle XPC X100 may be real competition to the Mac mini.
