Anyone that has the macbook pro and renders video has anyone noticed a huge difference in processing time such as with After Effects of FCP, and if so should I buy it for multimedia purposes or wait it out and buy the quad g5 for now because I want the new Intel chips but afraid that the processing time when rendering lots of layers will still be slow and all the software compatibility problems??????

After affects and FCP are not universal apps yet. They will run slow. A FCP upgrade is supposed to be released in the next few months for a small upgrade fee. However, there shouldn't be any compatibility problems. FCP will operate and behave the same as it did on a PPC processor.

What computer are you running right now? I'm willing to bet that the MacBook Pros will be fast enough to make up for any speed loss though Rosetta unless you have a very recent machine.
