New Doom 3 Patch breaks multiplayer

I installed the latest Doom 3 patch, and it appears to be blocking multiplayer games. Every time I try to join a game it tells me "missing required files." I have since uninstalled it and reinstalled the previous patch, and multiplayer has been restores. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
