Java not working in Safari

Dear All

When I visit secure sites like banking ones, it tells me that I have to "Enable Java". I have checked Safaris preferences and the Java boxes are checked. These sites work with other browers like netscape.

Any clues?

Thanks to all in advance.....

    Hi

I have possibly similar problems with my banks internet banking site as they are using the latest java for windows which is currently at 1.5 Update 5

We are still actually running by default 1.4.2 Update ?

I have to to get mine working via Safari is to not use Block Pop up windows and it works.

This is done by either going to Safari in Bold (Menu) and clicking on it or using apple + K which puts it on or off as needed.

I hope this of some help.

You can always download the new Java for Mac from Apple's website. They have a 1.5 version of it, and it doesn't overwrite your existing 1.4.2 install.
