A few iPod questions

Hey all, I'm about to buy an iPod Video 30GB this weekend. I wanted to know a few things:

One of the reasons I'm buying it is to put my files on until I get a new computer. A) Can I just put my music collection on as music instead of files and extract it later? B) Can my files/music be extracted by a Windows computer?

Thanks.

Yes, but you won't be able to listen to them on the iPod when they are like that.

i.e. files visible on the file system == not visible to iPod to play

files visible to iPod to play == files not visible on file system (obviously, they are there, but in invisible folders with obtuse names)

Yes, but only if you format the iPod to FAT32 first or you use a third-party HFS+ solution such as MacDrive on windows.

I meant, put them on as music on the iPod, and then use one of the music extracters.

Presumably, yes you can do that. I've never used any of the Windows ones, so I can't make any suggestions, beyond ensuring that whatever you do go with, integrates properly with iTunes and can read all the tags that iTunes/iPod keep in the database file rather than the individual track tags.

I have a question of my own

We have all heard about the rumored ipod - 3.5 inch screen, touch screen ... anyways I was wondering how are they going to get a protective case for the screen if it is a touch screen?
