DivX codec and intel macs

So I downloaded the newest divx AVI codec for quicktime, and I can hear sound when I play mpeg3 files, but the screen is completely white. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

    Tried VLC?



    There are some .AVI files compressed with teh evil WMV3 or FourCC codecs, which are windows only.



    VLC will often pop up a message box telling you it can't play these codecs if it encounters them (sometimes the only explanation of the white screen), whereas QT (even with the Flip4Mac WMV codecs) often just gives white screen or say 'not a file QT understands'.
