OS X Server on a PB (Question)

Does anyone know if can be done or has tried to put OS X Server on a PB?



I tried to load the OS and it crashed / won?t load to the install screen.

    I think it is possible. You would have to check the version if you are inatalling it on an old computer.



    Using a laptop as a server though will have some serious latency problems. I wouldn't expect great performance.

    Ebby ? thanks for your reply , but I have few questions:



    One ? what version of OS X Server should I try to load (10.2, 10.3?)? I previously tried to use 10.0.



    Also ? what do you mean by ?latency problems?? Is this a software issue with the Server OS in a PB environment, or more of a hardware issue, such as a slower IDE controller and HD in a PBs?

    I can't find the system requirements, but from your profile I assume a 600Mhz PB would run 10.3 server.



    The components in a laptop are slower than that of a desktop so by latency, I mean it will run slower and may not handle high bandwidth well. The Processor speed, bus speed, drive speed, amount of RAM, and ethernet connection (you are set here) can affect performance.
