Certain applications won't open: Appleworks, Microsoft office and Divx Doctor II. It started after I moved my computer from one location to another. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the magnetic dipole coupling on your hard drive is misaligned with the Earth's rotational quantum gravitational cycle. You need to get a GPS system and try to find out exactly where you moved the machine from and put it back.

Either that or you maybe knocked your drive while moving it. Did you move it while it was on? Are we talking laptop or desktop?

Also, what happens when you double click the apps? Do they just bounce or do they not bounce at all? Do they quit with an error? Did you run Disk Utility? Did you try reinstalling the apps?

Try making a copy of the application. If it doesn't work and you get a disc read error, you have bad sectors on your disc.

If copying works and the copied app doesn't launch, try trashing your preferences files.

It's a desktop. When I click the apps that don't work they bounce up once(unlike the working apps which bounce up several times) and then nothing happens. I've deleted DivxDoctor several times, and then reinstalled it, and nothing changes. I ran disk utility and it passed verification.

It's weird because only the three applications are affected: Divx, AppleW, and MicroOffice.
