AirPort Flakiness

Ever since I got my iMac, I've been using AirPort to set up a wireless connection to my Linksys wirelss "G" router. I was able to set it up with a static hash password key, not having gotten the dynamic hash password key to work (granted, I didn't try very hard).

For the most part, I'm quite satisfied with it. I set it up to disconnect whenever I put my system to sleep, and it takes about 5 seconds to connect when I wake up my system.

However, from time to time, AirPort just disconnects arbitrarily. Turning AirPort off and then on again doesn't work. It doesn't seem to detect my wireless network. I've had to either reboot or put my system to sleep and wake it up again to re-establish the wireless connection.

Is there an easier way to "flash" my AirPort wireless connection?

I assume you don't have any 2.4GHz equipment in the vicinity of your iMac or the router. Try downloading the lastest update for Airport from Apple's website as a stand alone download and update it. You can also try changing the channel used for communication by your router.
