I don't know about copying the DVD (I imagine it copies fine), but you can install Logic Pro on as many computers as you like. However, it will not load without the USB dongle plugged in. In fact, you can't even remove the dongle after you've loaded.

the back up is the disc you bought. if you're concerned about something happening to it, buy one of those fire-proof safes and store your app cd's in there.
