So I recently purchased a new macbook, which came with a tiger install disk. I was wondering if a) it is legal to install the tiger on my g3 powerbook and b) if it will work. Thanks

Your license only entitles you to use it on one machine at a time. Such clauses are legally questionable, however, and further, Apple is unlikely to care a lot in your case. Technically, though, they provide the OS X family pack (5 licenses for about the price of one and a half licenses) for this very purpose.

As for whether it will be of any technical use: it won't be a speed demon, and it will probably require some adjustments. XPostFacto will help.
