Replacing my iPod's hard drive

My 3G iPod's hard drive is shot. I'll sell it on eBay for parts and buy a working hard drive from ebay to replace.

I have a 15 GB, third generation touch wheel iPod. Which hard drive will work? I know some models share hard drives, while other revisions use different ones.

I've looked but haven't found it yet. Please help.

Thanks.

Well, over at IpodMods, on the 3G HD upgrade page, they list the 15g drive they use as being the Toshiba model # MK2004GAL, and the 40g as being model # MK4004GAH.

In all cases the 3G uses a 1.8" 4200rpm ATA-5 drive, so if you can find a better price on a manufacturer other than Toshiba, it should be fine.
