Sorry, I don't remember how to deal with that error.

If I were you, though, I would upgrade to 9.2 or 10.3.9.

I have an original iBook which runs 10.3.9 better than it ever did 9.2. (Of course, it has 548 MB RAM).

Boy, this is really dredging up remote information, but STF is a Faxing program. What I think this means is that there is an STF faxing extension that is looking for its prefs file.

In Classic, there are Extensions and System Extensions folders in the System Folder. Somewhere in one of those folders you should find the STF extension. I think you can move it to the Trash but you have to reboot to make it disabled.

I also seem to remember an Extensions Manager control panel (in the System Folder - Control Panels) that will let you see and uncheck that STF extension.

    Wooh, a time travelling thread.

I would give 9.2.2 a chance at least, but 10.3.9

is a mucher better choice like the previous posters suggested.

If you can get your hands on a Mac OS X CD, than don't

hesitate. Mac Os X comes with a free Fax app, too.
