dumb daylight savings question

I live in Indiana, where we have finally joined the civilized world and instituted daylight savings time, which will go in effect for the first time in our state this Sunday (right?). Anyway, does anyone know if the time zone setting "Indianapolis - U.S.A." in the Date & Time control pane will automatically convert to Daylight Savings on Sunday? In the past, it was smart enough to just keep us on EST, but I wasn't sure if it would make the switch to EDT or will have to change it manually.

Obviously, I will find out either way on Sunday, but I was curious!

dont know about your Indy/clock question. But the "civilized world" statement.... DST is the dumbest idea ever. the day is 24 hours long no matter how you slice it. Now it will be light out til 10-1030 at night most of the summer. oh and my kids can walk to school in the dark for almost the entire school year. Mitch(bitch) is an idiot. . If anything the whole state should be on central time. I will end my mini -rant heer and expect no replies or debate. fsck daniels and all his ilk. I feel better now 8^)

    Blame Bush.

    Anyway...

I'd think that if you set your time zone city to New York or something like that that you'll have little to no problems. If Indiana hasn't been updated -- which it might have been a few months ago with an OS update -- the other Eastern settings would work okay for you.

You may not have to do anything - maybe the OS just asks time.apple.com what the hell time it is in Indiana, and the server is up to date on all changes.
