Quicktime export problems to Windows Media

Hi all,

So I bought quicktime pro 7, because i needed the full screen capabilitiy and because i expected to be able to export in a decent format playable in Windows Media Player.

When I try to export to avi, it gives me only the choices of:

BMB

Cinepak

some different DV formats

none

Intel indeo 4.4

as compressor for the video.

So I tried the different:

1. the BMB file doesn't work for me in Windows Media Player 10

2. the Cinepak quality is horrible and unusable and has always been.

3. I am looking for a small file size, and high quality format not a dv-stream.

4. no compression is not an option because of the file size.

5. the Intel indeo 4.4 doesn't work for me in Windows Media Player 10

This gives me zero options of exporting the file. How can this be true for a 30$ piece of software that should be able to to it??

Any advice to why the intel indeo format doesn't work, or some other (free) software that could do the job?

I am on a windows pc, by the way (unfortunately)

thanks alot!

    Ok I got it finally.

The method is to export it in Windows media lossless format. And then use the free Windows Media Encoder to compress in various formats. It works perfect.
