Recoil gamepad

I bought a Recoil gamepad by Game Elements (Gemini) and I can't get it to work with anything. The manual says it should show up as an HID gamepad, but it doesn't even appear on my system profiler USB tree. Gamepad companion doesn't even see it. What gives? Anyone?
