2.16ghz Mac Book Pro speed bump?

I just went to the Apple site to get a price quote on a Mac Book Pro (was gonna wait for the iBooks, but Boot Camp is too juicy to resist), and noticed that the main page sez "now it's even faster, up to 2.16ghz Intel Core Duo". When you go to the store page, though, it only lists 1.83 and 2.0. Anyone know what the story is? Are there now three models, or is the 2.0ghz coming down to the $1999 price point of the 1.83?

Select the 2.0GHz model and you get an option to bump it up to 2.16GHz. The 1.83GHz lacks this option.

The 2.16 option has been available since the units started shipping and they bumped all preorders to 1.83 and 2.0 GHz.

If I was getting a MacBook Pro, I'd get the 2.16.

Those links posted to pages at the store will often (always after a short time) report "time out" messages by the time people actually try to use them. They are not very helpful (though helpfulness was your intent ).

just buy them at the store like that loaded with 2.16 and 7200RPM HD rather than online, because then it is NOT returnable or exchangeable at all.

There are models like that at the Apple Retails stores? I thought the only carried the standard models.

Meanwhile, if only I could get my Developer discount at the Retails Stores. Doh!

You can get a MacBook Pro 2.16 with the 100 Gig 7200 RPM drive, and 1 gig ram at Apple Stores. I picked mine up from thier retail chain.
