My PowerMac G3 Freezes

I bought a new Maxtor 120gig hard drive, popped it in my Powermac G3 and tried to install Tiger after it finishes installing and it restarts so that you can put in your account information before it gets to that screen it freezes. When I reboot in safe mode it comes up and finishes letting the installation by letting me fill out the account information. How can I stop it from freezing and stop letting it boot up without being in safe mode?
