Die battery icon, die!!

I had my UPS connected via USB to my iMac running from the Energy Saver UPS pane, but had to permanently disconnect the USB from the UPS to connect another device. I just disconnected the cable, but now the battery icon is still in my menu bar and won't go away. Is there a preferences file I can delete or replace that would eliminate it? Thanks in advance for any help!
