I have a chance to get a 15" PB from Compusa at a very good price, it was a demo. The screen has a yellowish tint on it, just wanted to know if there's a way to fix this with software or do it need a new screen? Thanks in advance.
The yellowish tint may be a combination of the (bluish) fluorescent lights offsetting the color of the display and the display itself not being calibrated. You'll probably be okay.
Well, does it come with Apple's original warranty? If it does you may want to call them and see if they'll fix it. It could be a bad video card on the motherboard, could be the screen, could be the environment you're in ... the first two of those aren't going to be cheap to fix by any means. Just ask the Comp USA people if it comes witht he Apple 1 yr warranty and see if they can fix this or discount it for you because of this problem. What's the worst they can say?

Well it's already $699
For a 15" Powerbook? That tells you something right there.

Haha ... yeah, I'd probably steer clear of it. It's a tempting buy but only if you could guarantee that it's covered under AppleCare
You might also try going to the refurbished store and seeing what they offer there (all the refurbs come with full Apple Warranties)
Apple Refurbished Store
They have a 15" PowerBook at $1399 right now ... not a bad deal if it's what you're looking for.
