Re-installing OS X after installing Ubuntu

Ok, here it goes.

I had 10.4 installed, and loved it. But i wanted to test out Ubuntu. I wanted to see the performance difference of that on my Mac in comparisson to a PC with similar amount of RAM and processor speed.

Ubuntu took some tweaking but worked beautifully. Now my fun is over. I'm done with Linux on the Mac and want OS X back on it.

I take the OS X cds that came with the system, boot from them, hold C, and voila. I'm in the setup menu. I go through all the menus until it asks to pick a destination for OS X to install. And it doesn't give me any choices.

I does not see a hard drive at all. Now i'm mostly a windows guy, and becoming more and more of a linux guy, so i'm guessing this has something to do with the linux partitions not being seen or something along those lines, but i have zero clue as how to approach the scneario.

Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried using the Disk Utility application on the Mac OS X install disc to get some free space on your drive?

Will the Disk Util allow me to delete all partitions on it and create the partitions needed for OS X?
