Font Help!

Hey all,

I've tried solving this problem myself but can't seem to find a solution.

Basically, I recently installed a font that seems to have corrupted the system fonts in some way - when i use various applications, including Safari and the MS Office apps, it is apparent that my Arial font has been changed to one of the installed fonts. However, in Fontbook, Arial appears there all fine and dandy.

Does anyone have any idea what this might be, and how I resolve it

Cheers in advance.

First do the basics if you have not already. I use OnyX for these.
    • Repair Permissions

    • Run Daily, Weekly and Monthly Scripts

    • Clear the Font Caches

    • then Restart

If this does not help then we need more information from you.
    • What system do you use?

    • What is the name and type of font. ie. TrueType, OpenType or postscript?

    • In which font folder did you put the new font?

    • do you use a Font Utility?

With this information we could start to work the problem.

    Good Luck,

    AquaMac,

    Thanks for your response!

I did as you said and ran Onyx to repair the pemissions etc, but that didn't help.

    In terms of more information...

    - I have a Rev. B Powerbook 12 inch.

    - I have no idea which font I installed was corrupted - basically I added 30/40 fonts via fontbook in one go, and soon noticed the change. I have tried to match up the font showing in Safari etc. with a font in fontbook but can't find one that resembles it.

    - Besides that, I'm not sure what other information I can give!?
