Looking for software to do basic remixing on a CD

All I want to do is adjust the volume (gain) on a couple of the tracks which seem to be relatively muted. I would like the output to be such that I can just copy the CD straight up, and not have to pass it through MP3 or AAC or whatnot.

Is there anything out there that's free? For $8 or so I can probably just get another version of the CD, since it's "classical," so free is good.

Do a Get Info on the tracks in iTunes after you've ripped it, under Options is a volume adjustment slider. Set it for the volume you want then burn the lot to another CD.

iTunes can rip CDs in their original form...no AAC, MP3 or Apple Lossless...just make your selections in the Preferences

In answer to your question regarding software....Versiontracker is your friend:

    As is MacUpdate:

    Start with Audion X...

Audacity for OSX is free and very powerful. Do a search from within Hyper Jeffs web site. http://osx.hyperjeff.net/Apps/
