Cinema Displays with iSight

LoopRumors has received confirmation today on a story we told you on November 11. iSight will be included on all new forthcoming Apple Displays. Those close with the development of the new displays say we can expect an even thinner, lighter design, with more mobility, brighter screens and an IR receiver for the Apple Remote.

These new displays should make their way to the market at the same time new PowerMacs are expected during Apple Expo Paris.

Well if this is true it seem that Ireland and I were indeed correct, while I won't pat myself in the back yet since this is only rumors, I still think this is really cool feature and one that make sense.

I also love the fact that the screens will be thinner and will have brighter screens, of course if Apple can also make them a bit cheaper then I think that would be great, I would definitly buy one!!

    Apple Camera

Macsimum News (http://www.macsimumnews.com/) reveals a patent (WO2006039427 filed in European Patent Office) of an imaging device [which] may also include a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), which is also coupled to the bus and which may be used to display images which are captured or recorded by the imaging device. The LCD serves as a viewfinder of a camera and there may optionally be other types of image display devices on imaging device which can serve as a viewfinder.

I think it would make sense, Apple seems to be trying to get in more to the photography market and having there own camera would be cool if done right.

Besides Sony sells cameras (and atleast here very well) and I'm sure Apple could do a better job than Sony (My opinion)

btw I'm not saying that because Sony does it Apple should what I mean is that if Sony can do it I believe Apple can aswell (atleast when comes to cameras)

The cinema display thing sound plausible. Thinner is Apple's way, and I just know the iSight thing is going to happen, that's a given.

The thing I want to see, but doubt they will do it. Is hidden speakers under the display, like the iMac

    1. Thinner (yes)

    2. iSight (yes)

    3. Hidden speakers (hopefully, but very doubtful)\

...about that other topic, there's a thread about that already here

Actually the site has 2 stories the one that is already posted here which you mention and this one which looprumors thinks is what will become an actual camera.

    Apple patent Camera Screen

Videoconferencing participants will soon appear to be looking straight into eachother's eyes in the screen rather than at a webcam or iSight off to the side. Apple submitted a patent for a screen that works like a camera by squeezing thousands of little image sensors into the gaps of a liquid crystal display. These images are then combined through software to create one large composite image.

they have it as separate things, that why I posted it.

Of course if they decide that both will lead to the same product then my post will become irrevelant if it's not a camera

Perhaps Apple wants to keep there options open or they plan to have both products.

I guess if they did both (camera and screen camera) the patents would be similar or it is the same thing but Apple had to make 2 patents.

    In time we will know!

all this changes are great but what I really want is:

44" or larger Cinema HD display!

with higher resolution than the current 30"

    That will rock!

    Not necessarily.

A computer monitor that size would be great. But I understand most people would use as HDTV monitor to see movies and broadcast. Why not. Apple could market it to Entertainment and computer users.

I personally would not mind to replace my 30" cinema display for one if the price is not astronomical.

What they need to do is build a mac mini type computer into a flat pannel tv. That would be badass and i dont think it would make the tv much thicker. Maybe throw about 500 GB of HDD in there?? Perhaps a little DVR action???

The convergence of all things i.e. no 65 remotes and seperate boxes under the TV. This will happen eventually, but i'd give it about 10 or more years before I see it going mainstream. Maybe more like 15 or more?

    No iSight in ACD's

    No Apple Camera

You people (and LoopRumors) have completely the wrong end of the stick. The sensors embedded in a screen are to allow simultaneous multipoint touch screen control.

Let's come back here in January.
