With just a few simple tools, you can create 3D models of houses, sheds, decks, home additions, woodworking projects - even space ships. And once you've built your models, you can place them in Google Earth, post them to the 3D Warehouse, or print hard copies.
Google SketchUp is free for personal use. No registration is required.
From reading the Google site, it looks like only a few functions have been crippled on the free version and you have to pay very dearly for the honor of movies and quality printing, plus exporting and importing more file types.
It's also pathetic that they don't have a free version of the Mac version yet... The Mac version of 5 has been out for a long time.
The warehouse is pretty lame... no categories, no nothing. Stick with FormFonts.
Right, which is why I believe they are working on making it Universal.
Maybe but that wasn't the reason they took so long to release the OS X version of Google Earth. I think that they, like most other developers, make sure they satisfy the larger Windows crowd first and assign the largest part of their development team to it and then pass off the Mac stuff to Pedro, the underpaid immigrant worker they keep in the cellar.

Not sure what there could be to finish; a Mac version has always been available of SketchUp.

That sounds more like it.

I thought that reason was because Keyhole was a Window's only application which was ported to OS X.
