macbook and 42" plasma

hello all,



i have a new macbook and a 18 month old Daewoo plama tv.



i cannot get the macbook, or my old dvi powerbook for that matter, to output to the tv



the tv input works, the cable works, because i have my cable box running through it.



i assume its some kind of resolution problem ?



can anyone here help me figure this out ?



the tv says its a dvi-d input



it also has a "pc input" which is a vga input i think. i havent tried that one. if the dvi just wont work, how much worse, resolution wise, would that input be ?
